How It All Began – Lisrec Foundation
Another key objective is to build a community of like-minded individuals who want to participate in positive changes on this planet, while also promoting education and support within the community.
Our first focus was on the issue of plastic waste and its utilization in the development of a new construction system. We concentrated on using polymeric sand material, composed of recycled plastic, sand, and other components that influence the properties of the final product.
This material has properties comparable to or even superior to concrete in many respects and has already been tested and proven in challenging climatic conditions.
The first shapes of new construction elements began to emerge through 3D printing, and testing of the entire construction system was underway.
Since 1950, more than 8.3 billion tons of plastic have been produced, with about 60% of this amount ending up in landfills, nature, or the oceans. Plastic waste is a complex issue that requires global cooperation and innovative solutions.

In Indonesia, we established important contacts and gained a clearer understanding of the true scale of the problem and the approach to recycling across the region.
At the same time, we recognized the need for new technologies that would provide affordable housing—a solution that people could build themselves at minimal cost.
We started developing the Lisrec construction system in early 2020.
